The Pickleball Bag

Now that you are playing pickleball, what do you carry all your pickleball stuff in?

When we were introduced to pickleball we just carried in our shoes, paddle and water bottle in our hands when we went to play. That didn’t last long. A normal duffle bag does work when you are just starting out, but eventually I wanted to get a bag that provided more storage and pickleball specific features.

TIP: I recommend that you label your bag and put a tag with your name and contact information so that if someone finds your bag they can contact you. Also a good idea to have a picture of it. If you do forget it somewhere perhaps you can post a picture on the group.

Features to look for in a Pickleball Bag

First and foremost, a padded insulated paddle sleeve will protect your paddle from damage and changes in temperature, especially high heat. Secondly, vented shoe compartment keeps smelly or dirty shoes away from the rest of your bag and allow them to air out. Having a waterproof compartment is convenient for wet things/water bottle. Some bags will have a water bottle sleeve and a zippered fleece pocket for your keys/wallet/phone. An added bonus is a compartment for balls.

Dedicated pickleball bags come in duffle, sling and back pack. Well padded straps are an absolute must. If you have a lot of gear or walking a long way to your court, a wheeled bag may be your choice. Here are some options and the features offered:

This is one of my pickleball bags. It comes in a few colors which is great. There is a dedicated paddle sleeve that zips closed and can hold two paddles. The bottom of the bag is dedicated for shoes. Inside there is a pocket for wet items with zipper and another that can hold two phones and a laptop or other items. The centre of the bag provides plenty of room for clothes or other items. There is an outside sleeve that I use for 2 water bottles or you can put balls there and a large zippered side pocket. I usually use this bag for indoor games. It comes with fence hooks too. Medium size.

There are handles, a long shoulder strap and pack pack straps to allow for three different options for carrying this bag. Click on the image to purchase or view more details.
